The vet's office has tried to find him a home and asked us to take him and help him. Carlos is up to date on all shots and is heartworm negative. He is sweet and friendly and is an active guy. The person that received him was not physically able to care for a puppy his size. Duke was about 9 months old when we got him in March. Duke is a sweet puppy, but because he was not able to fully interact with his former owner, he is still a little uncertain in new surroundings. He needs a little more socializing. Animal ID: 11-150Blackie (male) Akita Mix    Age: Puppy Compatibility:  Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults  Personality:  High Energy, Somewhat Dominant  Health:  Neutered, Vaccinations Current      Blackie came as a true homeless dog. He was turned in as the person caring for him couldn't keep him and didn't want him possibly ending up back with his previous owner who reported abused him. Blackie would not always be tolerant of dominant dogs. He's a sweet dog and very friendly with people. His neuter is covered in the adoption fee if done by participating vets.
